أصدرت هذه الفتوى ردا على سؤال عن إمرأة أتت بمولود بعد ستة أشهر من تاريخ إقرارها بإنقضاء عدتها بعد الطلاق. فسئل عما إذا كان المولود ينسب للمطلق أم لا. أجاب الشيخ بأن الفقهاء قد نصوا على أن المطلقة إذا أقرت بإنقضاء العدة وأتت بمولود بعد ستة أشهر من تاريخ إقرارها، فلا يثبت نسبه.

This fatwa was issued in response to a question about a woman who gave birth to a newborn six months after the date of her acknowledgement of the termination of her iddah (waiting) period after divorce. The question was about whether the paternity of the newborn is proven to be that of the divorcee. The Sheikh replied that the jurists indicated that if the divorced woman acknowledged the termination of her iddah period, and gave birth to a newborn six months after the date of her acknowledgement, the paternity of the child is not proved to be that of the ex-husband.
