أصدرت هذه الفتوى من قبل الشيخ عبد المجيد سليم ردا على سؤال عن شرعية إستخدام وسائل منع الحمل لتستريح الأم من كثرة الحمل ولا يرهق الوالد من مصاريف الأطفال الكثيرة. أجاب الشيخ بأنه يوجد رأي بجواز إستخدام موانع الحمل في حال رضاء الزوج والزوجة. ويوجد رأي أخر بجواز إستخدام الموانع بدون رضاء الأخر لعذر ما.

This fatwa was issued by Sheikh Abd al-Majid Salim in response to a question about the legality of using contraceptive methods for the mother to rest from pregnancy, and to avoid the exhaustion of the father from high child maintenance. The Sheikh replied that there is one opinion which argues for the use of contraception with the consent of the man and women. There is also another opinion which argues for the use of contraception without the consent of the other for specific reasons.
