The article discusses the Sharia-based conditions for the ritual slaughter of domestic animals in Islam and to what extent a Muslim is allowed to partake of animals slaughtered by non-Muslims such as Jews, Christians, Zoroastrians, idolaters and apostates. The article also a number of juristic opinions and fatwas regarding the (im)permissibility of the meat imported from non-Muslim countries.
