يتناول الكتاب تاريخ العلوم الطبية في الإسلام، ويتكون من ثلاثة أبواب. يحتوي الباب الأول على سبع فصول، ويناقش علم الطب قبل الإسلام عند العرب وغيرهم، وفي الحضارة الإسلامية، وأهم الإسهامات الإسلامية في مجال الطب والمستشفيات، وشهادات غير المسلمين على هذه الإنجازات. أما الباب الثاني فيتناول إسهامات المسلمين في العلوم المتعلقة بالعلوم الطبية مثل علم الصيدلة والنبات والحيوان وعلم الوراثة. ويتحدث الباب الثالث عن أهم علماء الحضارة الطبية مثل ابن سينا والرازي وابن النفيس.

This book deals with the history of medical sciences in Islam. It consists of three sections. The first section includes seven chapters that discuss Arab and non-Arab medicine before Islam and during the Islamic civilization, the most important Muslim contributions in the field of medicine and hospitals, and the testimonies of non-Muslims on these achievements. The second section deals with the contributions of Muslims in sciences related to medicine such as pharmacology, Botany, animal science, and genetics. The third section talks about the most important scientists in the medical civilization such as Ibn Sina, al-Razi and Ibn al-Nafis.
