يتناول الكتاب موضوع الإعاقة في الكويت ودور المؤسسات الاجتماعية والإسلام في رعاية المعاقين. يتكون الكتاب من خمس أبواب. يناقش الباب الأول نبذة تاريخية عن المعوقين، والعوامل المسببة للإعاقة بأنواعها المختلفة، و الأمراض الوراثية، والتصنيف التقليدي لفئات الإعاقة. ويستعرض الباب الثاني أنواع الإعاقة المختلفة. أما الباب الثالث فهو عبارة عن دراسة تحليلية عن قدر مشكلة الإعاقة في دولة الكويت. و يناقش الباب الرابع جهود دولة الكويت في رعاية المعوقين. أما الباب الخامس فيناقش دور المنظمات والهيئات العالمية في رعاية المعاقين، والوقاية من الإعاقة في ضوء الإسلام.

This book deals with the topic of disability in Kuwait, and the role of social institutions and Islam in caring for the disabled persons. It consists of five sections. The first section discusses a brief history of disabled persons, the reasons behind their disability, its different types, genetic diseases, and the conventional classification of the categories of disability. The second section presents the different types of disabilities. The third section is an analytical study on the extent of the problem of disability in Kuwait. The fourth section discusses the efforts of Kuwait in caring for the disabled. The fifth section discusses the role of the international organizations and institutions in the care for the disabled, and the prevention of disability in the light of Islam.
