تم تقديم هذا البحث إلى المؤتمر العالمي الرابع عن الطب الإسلامي المنعقد في الكويت خلال الفترة 9-13 نوفمبر1986. يستعرض البحث دور المرأة المسلمة كطبيبة وممرضة على مدار التاريخ الإسلامي كما ورد في الأحاديث النبوية والمصادر التاريخية. تمت الإشارة أيضا إلى قضية التواصل بين الجنسين في مجال الطب من منظور إسلامي أخلاقي.

This paper was presented to the fourth international conference on Islamic medicine held in Kuwait during the period 9-13 November 1986. The paper explores the role of Muslim women as physicians and nurses throughout Islamic history by consulting Prophetic traditions and historical sources. Reference is also made to cross-gender interactions in the field of medicine from an Islamic ethical perspective.
