تم تقديم هذا البحث إلى المؤتمر العالمي الرابع عن الطب الإسلامي المنعقد في الكويت خلال الفترة 9-13 نوفمبر1986. يدعو البحث إلى نظرة نقدية تجاه النقاشات الفقهية القديمة حول أقل الحمل وأكثره. ويرى المؤلف أن آراء فقهاء الإسلام قديما حول هذا الموضوع ليست مبنية على أدلة قطعية ومن ثم ينبغي مراجعتها الآن في ضوء المعارف الطبية المتاحة.
Abstract Translated
This paper was presented to the fourth international conference on Islamic medicine held in Kuwait during the period 9-13 November 1986. The paper calls for a critical look at early discussions in Islamic jurisprudence on the minimum and maximum period of pregnancy. To the author, many of the conclusions reached by early Muslim jurists on this issue are not based on decisive evidence and thus should be revised now in light of available medical knowledge.
