This book addresses the principles of issuing fatwas in the Islamic Sharia. The book is composed of seven chapters that study the following topics: types and concept of fatwa linguistically and according to the Islamic Sharia; difference between issuing fatwas and judicature in Islam; methodologies of fatwa in the era of the Pious Salaf; scholars of the Hanafī and Shāfiʿī Islamic law schools; conditions for selecting the Mufti in accordance with the Hanafī school; cases of issuing fatwas according to a different Islamic law school; change of provisions of fatwas with the change of time; principles, methodology and ethics of issuing/requesting fatwas.
