أصدرت هذه الفتوى ردا على سؤال عن إستخدام وسيلة الشنق للإعدام، بدلا من السيف. أجاب الشيخ بأن العلماء اختلفوا في كيفية أستيفاء القود. فمنهم من قالوا أن القاتل يقتل بمثل ما قتل به المقتول. ومنهم من قالوا أن القصاص لا يكون إلا بالسيف. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، أجاب الشيخ بأن الأدلة التي إستدل بها الحنفية، يظهر منها جواز القصاص بالشنق إذا كان أسهل وأسرع من السيف.

This fatwa was issued in response to a questions about using hanging as a method of capital punishment, instead of the sword. The Sheikh responded that scholars differed in their opinions on methods of capital punishment. Some stated that the murderer must be killed by the method he used to murder the victim. Others however stated that it must be done by nothing apart from the sword. Additionally, the Sheikh responded that according to the evidence the Hanafi school of thought use, it is clear that hanging may be used if it is easier and quicker than the sword.
