يبدأ هذ الكتاب بفصل تمهيدي عن العلاقة بين التقنية الحديثة والخلاف الفقهي وأسباب وجود المسائل الخلافية عند الفقهاء. ثم يناقش هذا الفصل جهود الفقهاء في حل القضايا المستحدثة وموقف الشرع من التقنيات الحديثة. ثم ينقسم الكتاب إلى خمسة فصول. يناقش الفصل الأول أثر التقنية الحديثة في العبادات والطهارة وفي أحكام الصلاة مثل تحديد إتجاه القبلة وعلامات البلوغ. ثم يناقش هذا الفصل أثر التقنية الحديثة في الصيام، مثل إثبات رؤية الهلال وأثر التقنية الطبية الحديثة في مفطرات الصيام. الفصل الثاني يتناول أثر التقنية الحديثة في باب المعاملات مثل العقود. الفصل الثالث يناقش أثر التقنية الحديثة في باب المواريث والتحقق من الموت، وميراث الخنثى ومدة إنتظار المفقود. الفصل الرابع يتحدث عن أثر التقنية الحديثة في باب النكاح. ومن الموضوعات المتناولة في هذا الفصل، إنتشار الحرمة بسبب الرضاعة، عيوب النكاح والعقم وعلاجهم بالتقنيات االحديثة، الحمل ومدته وقضايا النسب. الفصل الخامس والأخير يناقش أثر التقنيات الحديثة في باب الجنايات والحدود، مثل الجناية على الجنين، تأجيل العقوبة بالمرض وإثبات حد الخمر.

This book begins with a preliminary chapter on the relationship between modern technology and jurisprudential disagreement, and the reasons behind this disagreement among the jurists. This chapter then discusses the efforts of jurists in solving the contentious issues and the position of sharia towards modern technologies. The book then divides into five chapters. The first chapter discusses the impact of modern technologies on rituals and purity, and on rulings related to prayer such as determining the Qibla (direction of prayer), and signs of puberty. This chapter then discusses the impact of modern technologies on fasting, such as proving sighting of the crescent moon and the impact of modern medical technologies on substances which invalidate the fast. The second chapter deals with the impact of modern technologies on transactions such as contracts. The third chapter discusses the impact of modern technologies on inheritance and the verification of death, inheritance of hermaphrodites and the period of waiting for missing persons. The fourth chapter talks about the impact of modern technologies on marriage. Amongst the topics discussed in this chapter are the spread of prohibition resulting from breast feeding, marital defects and infertility and treating them with modern technologies, pregnancy and its length, and issues of paternity. The fifth and final chapter discusses the impact of modern technologies on crimes and punishment such as abortion, postponing punishment due to illness, and proving the crime of drinking alcohol.
