يبدأ الكتاب بمناقشة دور المرأة غبر التاريخ ومكانة المرأة في الإسلام ثم ينقسم إلى ثلاثة أبواب. الباب الأول يناقش بناء الأسرة، مظاهر عناية الإسلام بالأسرة، الزواج وتعدد الزوجات. الباب الثاني يناقش الحقوق والواجبات وقضايا معاصرة متعلقة بالأسرة مثل حقوق الزوجين والأبناء والآباء، النسل وتحديده وحجاب المرأة وعملها. الباب الثالث يناقش الطلاق والفرقة بين الزوجين واللعان، بالإضافة إلى الحكمة من مشروعية الطلاق.

This book begins with discussing the role of women over history and the place of women in Islam, and then divides into three sections. The first section discusses building the family, the manifestations of caring for the family in Islam, marriage and polygamy. The second section discusses rights and duties, and contemporary issues concerning the family, such as the rights of spouses, children and parents, offspring and family planning, the veil (hijab) of women and their work. The third section discusses divorce, separation between married couples and the oaths of condemnation, in addition to the wisdom behind legitimizing divorce.
