يتكون هذا البحث من جزئين رئيسيين. في الجزء الأول يشرح الباحث عددا من المصطلحات ذات الصلة من بينها الصحة والتأمين والتأمين الصحي ثم يقدم عرضا تاريخيا لفكرة التأمين الصحي وأنواعه وأهدافه. وفي الجزء الثاني يركز المؤلف على الحكم الشرعي للتأمين الصحي وما إذا كان وجود عنصر الغرر مؤثرا على صحة العقد كما يناقش الباحث كذلك حكم الاشتراط مع الطبيب على الشفاء.

This paper is divided into two main parts. In the first part, the author explains a number of technical terms including health, insurance and health insurance and then presents a historical review of health insurance, its types and main objectives. In the second part, the author focuses on the Sharia-based ruling pertaining to the different types of health insurance and if the element of uncertainty may affect the validity of the contract. The author also discusses the (im)permissibility of stipulating healing from the physician.
