يتكون هذا الكتاب من فصل تمهيدي وثلاث فصول وخاتمة. الفصل التمهيدي يعرف اللقيط ويناقش موضوع التكافل الإجتماعي في الشريعة الإسلامية. الفصل الأول يناقش الأحكام المتعلقة بإلتقاط اللقيط. الفصل الثاني يناقش أحكام الملتقط. أما الفصل الثالث فيناقش الأحكام المتعلقة باللقيط ومنها نسب وديانة اللقيط، بالإضافة إلى ملكية اللقيط والنفقة عليه

This book consists of a preliminary chapter, three chapters and a conclusion. The preliminary chapter defines the foundling and discusses the subject of social welfare in Islamic law. The first chapter discusses the rulings pertaining to foundlings. The second chapter discusses the rulings pertaining to the finder of the foundling. As for the third chapter, it discusses the rulings pertaining to foundlings and amongst these are the paternity and religion of the foundling, in addition to the foundling's maintenance and the ownership of the foundling.
