يبدأ هذا المقال بتناول التعريفات اللغوية والطبية والقانونية لمختلف أنواع المخدرات والكحول والمهلوسات والمهدئات والمنومات والمنبهات. ويركز المقال على كيفية استخدام هذه المواد في الغذاء والدواء وإلى أي مدى تتوافق أو تتعارض مثل هذه الاستخدامات مع الضوابط الإسلامية الأخلاقية.

This article starts with exploring the linguistic, medical and legal definitions of different types of drugs, alcohol, hallucinogens, sedatives, hypnotics and stimuli. The main focus of the article is on how these substances are used in food and medicine and to what extent such uses are (in)compatible with Islamic ethical norms.
