تم تقديم هذا البحث إلى المؤتمر العالمي الرابع عن الطب الإسلامي المنعقد في الكويت خلال الفترة 9-13 نوفمبر1986. اعتمادا على استشهادات مطولة من القرآن والسنة، يرسم هذا البحث ملامح واجبات وحقوق الطبيب من منظور إسلامي أخلاقي. كما يعالج البحث عدد من القضايا الأخرى ذات الصلة مثل العلاقة بين التداوي ومفهوم التوكل على الله.

This paper was presented to the fourth international conference on Islamic medicine held in Kuwait during the period 9-13 November 1986. Based on extensive quotations from the Koran and Sunna, this paper sketches the main responsibilities and rights of the physician from an Islamic ethical perspective. The paper also discusses other relevant issues such as the relation between medical treatment and the concept of tawakkul or having trust in God.
