تم تقديم هذا البحث إلى المؤتمر العالمي الثالث عن الطب الإسلامي المنعقد في الكويت خلال الفترة 28 سبتمبر – 2 أكتوبر 1984. بعد تقديم استعراض تاريخي مقتضب للأطباء البارزين قديما في العالم الإسلامي ناقش البحث عددا من القضايا من بينها الشريعة والطب وكيفية التعامل مع المرض والمرضى من منظور أخلاقي إسلامي وبعض القضايا الطبية الشائكة التي وردت في الأحاديث النبوية وآفاق المستقبل والتعاون الدولي في مجال الأخلاقيات الطبية والحيوية.

Abstract Translated

This paper was presented to the third international conference on Islamic medicine held in Kuwait during the period 28 September-2 October 1984. After giving a concise historical overview of early prominent physicians in the Muslim world, the paper discussed a number of issues including Sharia and medicine, how to deal with sickness and with patients from an Islamic ethical perspective, controversial issues related to medicine in the prophetic traditions, future prospects and international cooperation in the field of biomedical ethics.
