تم تقديم هذا البحث إلى المؤتمر العالمي الثاني عن الطب الإسلامي المنعقد في الكويت في شهر مارس من عام 1982. ذكر المؤلف خمس نقاط رئيسية ينبغي وضعها في الاعتبار عند عمل منهج لتدريس مادة الطب الإسلامي وهي (1) أن تكون البيئة التعليمية مهيأة لممارسة الحياة الإسلامية (2) أن يكون من بين المكونات الرئيسية للمنهج مواد متعلقة بتاريخ الطب في الإسلام والفقه الإسلامي والأخلاقيات الإسلامية ودراسات القرآن والحديث والفلسفة الإسلامية والطب النبوي (3) أن يكون اختيار أعضاء هيئة التدريس مبنيا على أساس مستواهم العلمي وخبرتهم بالبحث العلمي إلى جانب درايتهم بالتعاليم الإسلامية (4) لابد من توفير الحرية الكاملة للفكر والتعبير في نطاق حدود الدين الإسلامي (5) ينبغي أن تبذل محاولات في سائر أجزاء المنهج لحث الطلاب على الملاحظة والتفسير والتدبر.

This paper was presented to the second international conference on Islamic medicine held in March 1982 in Kuwait. The author mentioned five main points that should be considered while developing the curriculum for a course on Islamic medicine: 1) the educational environment should be conducive to the practice of Islam, 2) courses in Islamic medical history, Islamic jurisprudence, Islamic ethics, Qurʼān and Ḥadīth studies, Islamic philosophy and prophetic medicine must be essential components of the curriculum, 3) the teachers must be selected on the basis of their knowledge and research experience besides their Islamic knowledge and character, 4) there must be complete freedom of thought and expression within the bounds of Islam and 5) throughout the curriculum attempts should be made in order to stimulate students to observe, interpret and ponder.
