يتناول الكتاب موضوع الطب الشرعي من وجهة النظر القانونية مع التركيز على القانون المصري ويتكون من بابين رئيسيين: الأعمال التي يختص بها الطبيب الشرعي؛ و الأعمال التي تختص بها الأقسام المختلفة بالطب الشرعي. يتكون الباب الأول من مبحث تمهيدي حول مفهوم الخبرة وثلاثة فروع: الجوانب القانونية والنفسية في عمل الطبيب الشرعي؛ الإختصاص الفني للطبيب الشرعي؛ وصور من جرائم تقتضي ندب الطبيب الشرعي لعمل الفحص اللازم وإعداد تقرير بشأنها. يتكون الباب الثاني من أربعة فصول: فحص البقع الدموية؛ التصوير الجنائي؛ السموم؛ وأبحاث التزوير والتزييف.

The book discusses the topic of forensic medicine from the legal perspective with a special focus on the Egyptian law. It consists of two main chapters: tasks that fall under the specialty of the forensic physician; and tasks that fall under the different divisions of forensic medicine. The first chapter consists of a preliminary introduction, on the issue of technical expertise, and three main sections: legal and psychological dimensions in forensic medicine; technical expertise of the forensic physician; and examples of crimes that require the involvement of a forensic physician to write technical reports concerning them. The second chapter consists of four main sections: examination of blood spots; criminal photography; poisons; and fraud and forgery.
