The book discusses the rules pertaining to both breastfeeding and child custody according to both Islamic jurisprudence and positive law with a special focus on the Egyptian legal and judicial context. It consists of two main parts. The first discusses breastfeeding and it consists of three chapters: definition, duration, and nature of breastfeeding; payment for breastfeeding; and the impact of breastfeeding on custody rights. The second part discusses child custody and it consists of seven chapters: definition of and nature of custody; arrangement of right-holders of custody; conditions of custody; stages of custody and child-rearing; payment for custody; moving away with the child; and child visitation.
