This book discusses sharia-based rulings on medical intervention involving germ cells. It consists of a preliminary chapter on the important expressions and concepts in the book and five main chapters on these issues: artificial insemination; fetal sex determination and sex preselection; surrogate mothers; cryopreservation of germ cells and their use in medical treatment; and permanent as well as temporary surgical sterilization.
