يتألف الكتاب من جزأين سبق أن نشرهما المؤلفان ككتابين منفصلين. يركز الجزء الأول، الذي سبق أن نشره المؤلف الأول، على أخلاقيات الطبيب المسلم ويتكون من أربعة فصول: لماذا الدين الإسلامي؛ خصائص الطبيب المسلم؛ علاقة الطبيب بالمريض؛ و علاقة الطبيب بالمجتمع. ويركز الجزء الثاني، الذي سبق أن نشره المؤلف الثاني، على الأحكام الشرعية المتعلقة ببعض القضايا الطبية ويتكون من سبعة فصول: علم التشريح لدى المسلمين؛ الموت، تعريفه، وعلاماته، وتشخيصه؛ زرع الأعضاء، نظرة طبية فقهية؛ الإنفجار السكاني وقضية تحديد النسل؛ وسائل تحديد النسل وحكمها الشرعي؛ مشكلة الخنثى بين الطب والفقه؛ و طرق وأنواع الإستيلاد المستحدثة.

The book consists of two main parts, previously published as two separate books by the two authors. The first part, originally written and published by the first author, focuses on the ethics of a Muslim physician and it consists of four chapters: why is Islamic faith; characteristics of the Muslim physician; physician patient relationship; and the relationship between the physician and sociaty.The second part, originally written and published by the second author, focuses on the discussion of a number of important medical issues from the Islamic persperctive andit consists of seven chapters: science of anatomy and Muslim scientists; signs and diagnosis of death; organ transplantation from a medical and jurisprudential perspectives; overpopulation and birth control; birth control methods adn sharia rulings on it; intersexuality between medicine and jurisprudence; and modern reproductive methods.
