تم تقديم هذا البحث إلى الندوة التي عقدتها المنظمة الإسلامية للعلوم الطبية حول الوراثة والتكاثر البشري وذلك خلال الفترة 6-9 فبراير من عام 2006. يقرر البحث أن بناء أسرة هو أحد مقاصد الشريعة الإسلامية وبالتالي فإن الحد من عدم القدرة على الإنجاب هو عمل محمود في الإسلام. ويستعرض المؤلف بعد ذلك الجوانب الإسلامية الأخلاقية للتلقيح الصناعي والاستنساخ البشري واختيار جنس الجنين وعدد من تقنيات التحسين الوراثي.

This paper was submitted to the seminar held by the Islamic Organization for Medical Sciences (IOMS) during the period 6-9 February 2006 on human genetic and reproductive technologies. The paper states that building up a family is one of the main objectives of the Islamic Sharia and thus curing infertility is, in principle, a commendable deed in Islam. The author reviews further the Islamic ethical aspects of in vitro fertilization (IVF), human cloning, sex preselection and specific genetic enhancement technologies.
