تم تقديم هذا البحث إلى الندوة التي عقدتها المنظمة الإسلامية للعلوم الطبية في الكويت حول الشيخوخة وذلك خلال الفترة 18-21 أكتوبر من عام 1999. ويقدم المؤلف مقارنة من المنظور الأخلاقي بين وضعية المسنين في الغرب ووضعيتهم في العالم الإسلامي ويتبنى القول بأن الوضع في العالم الإسلامي لا يزال أفضل بكثير منه في الغرب.
Abstract Translated
This paper was submitted to the symposium held by the Islamic Organization for Medical Sciences (IOMS) during the period 18-21 October 1999 on ethical issues related to aging. The author presents a comparison, from an ethical perspective, between the status of the aged in the West and their status in the Muslim world. He argues that the situation in the Muslim world is still much better than in the West.
