تم تقديم هذا البحث إلى الندوة التي عقدتها المنظمة الإسلامية للعلوم الطبية حول زراعة الأعضاء في الكويت أثناء الفترة 23-24 أكتوبر من عام 1989. يري المؤلف أن الحصول على خلايا من الأجنة بغرض زرعها هو أحد الموضوعات الجديدة في الفقه الإسلامي والتي لم يتطرق إليها نقاشات علماء الإسلام قديما. ومن ثم فإنه ينبغي دراسة هذه القضية من خلال الأطر العامة للعقيدة الإسلامية كعلاقة الروح بالجسد وطبيعة نفخ الروح بالإضافة إلى عدد من القواعد الفقيهة.

This paper was submitted to the symposium held by the Islamic Organization for Medical Sciences (IOMS) during the period 23-24 October 1989 on organ transplantation. To the author, harvesting cells from embryos for transplantation is a new topic in Islamic jurisprudence which has not been discussed by early Muslim religious scholars. Hence, this issue should be studied by reflecting upon broad themes in Islamic theology, such as the human body-soul relationship and the nature of ensoulment, in addition to a number of Islamic legal maxims.
