وضعية مريض الإيدز من منظور المذهب الشيعي في الإسلام هو النقطة الرئيسية لهذا البحث المقدم إلى الندوة التي عقدتها المنظمة الإسلامية للعلوم الطبية حول الإيدز والمشاكل الاجتماعية المتعلقة به في الكويت أثناء الفترة 6-8 ديسمبر من عام 1993. ويستعين المؤلف بعدد من المصادر الشيعية القديمة لبلورة آرائه حول إمكانية عزل مريض الإيدز ومصير الزواج حال إصابة أحد الزوجين بالإيدز وإجهاض الحمل للسيدات المصابات بالإيدز وفرص العمل بالنسبة لمرضى الإيدز.

The status of the AIDS patient within the Shīʻī tradition of Islam is the main focus of this paper which was submitted to the symposium held by Islamic Organization for Medical Sciences (IOMS) in Kuwait during the period 6-8 December 1993 on AIDS and its social problems. Basing his arguments on the classical Shīʻ229}0sources, the author elaborates on the possibility of isolating the AIDS patient, the fate of marriage if one of the couple becomes infected with AIDS, terminating pregnancy for the female AIDS patient and work opportunities for AIDS patients.
