This article reviews the Sharia-based conditions for the ritual slaughter of animals in Islam and to what extent a Muslim is allowed to partake of animals slaughtered by Jews and Christians. The article also discusses the modern automated methods for slaughtering poultry, cows and goats and how this can affect the Sharia-based ritual slaughter of the animal. Finally, the article discusses the rulings pertaining to the meat imported from non-Muslim countries.
