يمثل هذا المقال محاولة لصياغة رؤية إسلامية لتقنيات الهندسة الوراثية البشرية. ويضم المقال أربعة أقسام رئيسية: (أ) نظرة إسلامية لنشأة وتطور العلوم بصفة عامة (ب) التعريف بعلم الهندسة الوراثية مع التركيز على المصطلحات ذات الصلة والتقنيات والمنافع والأضرار (ج) المدخل الإسلامي لعلم الهندسة الوراثية (د) دعوة المؤسسات الإسلامية لصياغة ميثاق شرف لضبط البحوث العلمية بصفة عامة والهندسة الوراثية بصفة خاصة.

This article is an attempt to construct an Islamic vision for the techniques of human genetic engineering. The article is divided into four main sections: (a) an Islamic vision for the emergence and development of sciences in general, (b) introductory remarks on the science of genetic engineering with a focus on related terminology, techniques, benefits and harms, (c) an Islamic approach to the science of genetic engineering and (d) a call for Islamic institutions to draft a unified code of ethics for scientific research in general and genetic engineering in particular.
