تم تقديم هذا البحث إلى المؤتمر العالمي الخامس عن الطب الإسلامي المنعقد في الكويت خلال الفترة 20-23 نوفمبر 1988. يقدم البحث إحصائيات عن انتشار الإيدز حول العالم ومعلومات عن طرق انتقاله والجوانب الاجتماعية المتعلقة بهذا المرض وإمكانيات تطوير دواء أو لقاح له. وفي الختام يرسم البحث الخطوط العريضة لنظرة إسلامية للوقاية من الإيدز.

This paper was presented to the fifth international conference on Islamic medicine held in Kuwait during the period 20-23 November 1988. The paper presents statistics about the spread of AIDS worldwide, information about the ways of transmitting it, the social aspects related to this disease, possibilities of developing medicine or vaccines for it and finally sketching the broad lines of an Islamic vision on AIDS prevention.
