تم تقديم هذا البحث إلى المؤتمر العالمي الرابع عن الطب الإسلامي المنعقد في الكويت خلال الفترة 9-13 نوفمبر1986. يقدم الجزء الأول من هذا البحث عرضا للطفيليات الزونوسية في الكلاب والتي تسبب الأمراض للإنسان مشفوعا بعدد من الإجراءات الوقائية التي ينصح بها. أما الجزء الثاني من البحث فيتعرض للأحكام الشرعية المتعلقة باقتناء الكلاب أو وجود اتصال معها.

This paper was presented to the fourth international conference on Islamic medicine held in Kuwait during the period 09-13 November 1986. The first part of this paper provides an overview of the common zoonotic parasites in dogs which cause human diseases espoused with recommended preventive measures. The second part of the paper is devoted to expounding the Sharia-based rulings pertaining to keeping and having contact with dogs.
