تم تقديم هذا البحث إلى المؤتمر العالمي الثاني عن الطب الإسلامي المنعقد في الكويت في شهر مارس من عام 1982. شرح المؤلف القواعد العامة في الفقه الإسلامي ذات الصلة بالأخلاقيات الطبية والحيوية. وقد ناقش البحث هذه القواعد ضمن خمسة عناصر رئيسية وهي (1) المبادئ المتعلقة بتحقيق المصلحة (2) تجنب المضار وإزالتها (3) رفع الحرج ومراعاة الضرورة (4) حق الغير والإذن فيه (5) التعاون والنفع والإيثار.

This paper was presented to the second international conference on Islamic medicine held in March 1982 in Kuwait. The author outlined the main rules in Islamic jurisprudence relevant to biomedical ethics. The paper discussed these rules under five main headings: 1) principles related to realizing the public benefit, 2) avoiding the causation of harms and rectifying their consequences if inflicted, 3) removing hardship and considering necessity, 4) the right of the other and taking his consent into account and 5) cooperation, benefiting each other and altruism.
