Medical ethics is a branch of professional ethics that deals with ethical issues in the field of medical practice. Historical evidence shows that even prehistoric healers were bound by a common set of ethical principles. The history of medicine in Iran dates to many centuries ago, so the ethical concept in practice of medicine in Iran and Islam has long history too. The distinguished Iranian physicians such as Ahwazi, Razi, Ibn-Sina and Jorjani wrote treaties on the ethical qualities of physicians. In addition, there are various implications related to medical ethics in old literary and Islamic medical works in Iran.
