Abstract

Affected by a fashion imported from Europe and following the example of some Arab countries, Algeria has instituted by decree its first Ethics Committee for Health Sciences. Between the fatwahs of the Islamic High Committee and the directives of the Ministry of Health, the Algerian Ethics Committee, in its composition, its way of functioning and its opposition to change, brings together all the contradictions of a society in gestation.
